The Templars
* From April 10th to 12th, 2026 *
Every year, when the good weather returns, Biot seems to hold its breath.
The village is preparing for a journey back in time, a return to the era when the Knights Templar walked its narrow streets. Little by little, the medieval facades are adorned with banners, the vaults echo with footsteps, and the engraved stones recount once again the legends they have held for centuries.
Then begins Biot and the Templars, a weekend where the Middle Ages come back to life.
Around a street corner, a blacksmith makes sparks fly, just like in the old days. Further on, knights in armor rehearse their battles, swords clang, and children hold their breath. The aromas of fresh bread, spices, and traditional foods fill the squares, while troubadours tune their instruments to accompany the festivities. The entire village becomes a living stage, a theater of history where every visitor is transported to the heart of a fascinating era.
Guided by passionate storytellers, curious visitors discover how the history and myths of the Templars have shaped Biot: the alleyways that spiral uphill, the mysterious vaults, the sculpted stones… Every detail seems to have preserved the memory of this glorious past.
This celebration is not just a reenactment: it's a vibrant tribute to those who built and protected the village. A moment where families, enthusiasts, and travelers come together to share a timeless adventure.
And when the last torch goes out and the knights disappear into the night... there remains this feeling of having touched a fragment of history... and the irresistible desire to return the following year.
